5 Boutique & Unique Bellarine Experiences

Getaways are for relaxing, sleeping in, eating and drinking, immersing yourself in nature and making sure you tick off the best experiences in the region.
We’ve curated a MUST DO list for your next stay, and what a good excuse to stay on a little longer in Portarlington.

The Q Train

A Premier product of the Bellarine. An award-winning restaurant that travels along a historic rail line and picturesque scenery. Beautifully restored carriages, where you can choose to enjoy with other passengers or opt for a private cabin all to yourselves. A wonderful showcase of local food, wines, beer and ciders. Definitely put it on the to do list because it’s very popular.

Bennetts on the Bellarine – Degustation Tasting Board

A winery and cellar door with scenic views of the bay and the magical You Yangs. But if you can draw yourself away from the scenery, feast your eyes on their Degustation Tasting Board. This interactive food and wine experience is a fabulous excuse to sit, sip & taste the afternoon away. They might even arrange a courtesy pick up from the hotel if you’re lucky.

Bella E Bike

Take yourself on a self-guided tour along the north facing esplanade, or to visit the local wineries, on a quality German built E Bike. Jeremy will meet you at the hotel and set you up, provide you tips on where to go and the adventures lay before you. Really easy to ride and they help you up the steeper inclines ( cause you’re on holiday right?) Book it for half a day or keep it for a few days if you like. A great way to get around if you came across on the ferry.

Peter’s Odyssey Tram Bar @ Terindah Estate

A beautiful tribute, this fully refurbished, W Class tram is the newest addition to Terindah Estate. It features beautiful views across Corio Bay and the You Yangs. Sit on the expansive, elevated deck and enjoy a glass of wine and a grazing box whilst soaking in the sun. While you’re there, you have to ask about the story of the tram and find out about the wonderful Peter who built Terindah to what it is today.

Portarlington Mussel Tours

The newest addition to the region. An intimate & authentic cruise showcasing the renowned Portarlington Mussels. A lovingly restored Huon Pine vessel that carries no more than 12 people. Indulge in the freshest mussels & local oysters, along with other Bellarine produce and of course Bellarine wines. Harvest mussels yourself, watch the cooking demonstrations along with a side of fresh sea air. Just a short walk down from the hotel. Be sure to book ahead.
